Take Lessons

Find a cello and I’ll come to you! Taking in-person students across Chicagoland and online students everywhere else.

My teaching style has been described as "intense and flowing." I work with beginner and intermediate players, ages 6 and up. I’ll help you enrich your tone, develop your style, and collaborate with you on a tailored practice method that gets you to your goals faster. When you have the fundamentals down you can play any genre you want - no music snobs here. After considering the origin of a piece of music and the way the piece makes my student feel, we work toward bringing out the beauty in the music and the personality of the student to create a unique polished performance.

Weekly Lessons

A classic for a reason: one-on-one lessons are the best way to progress toward your goals on a musical instrument. I offer 30, 45, or 60 minute lessons depending on your goals. For beginners, we’ll make sure you can produce a beautiful, rich sound as quickly as possible so that we can work on finding your stylistic voice. For intermediate players, I'll help you prepare for auditions and branch out into your favorite musical genres.

Guided Practice Sessions

One of the main benefits of studying an instrument is learning how to learn - that is, becoming familiar with the quickest way to get good at something! 30-minute guided practice sessions are a great supplement to your weekly lessons and especially helpful when preparing for auditions. During guided practice sessions, we zero in on difficult sections of music and you learn the most time-efficient way to practice on your own.

Studio Masterclass

Once a month I host a virtual cello studio masterclass where a few students perform and other students give feedback. This allows you to get valuable experience performing for an audience and gain multiple perspectives from other cellists on your playing. It’s a great way to get plugged into the music community, find support, and get inspired.
